I’m pretty new to Photoshop. I have the Adobe Photoshop CS3 version and was wondering if anyone might know of any good tutorials for beginners?

So i’ve been wanting to go into graphic design for about 6 years now, ever since i started doing that type of stuff. Im about to go into my second year of college, and I may be in a predicament. I took some art and design classes my first year, but all the next classes are restricted to Bachelor of Design/Fine Arts students, of which I was rejected to when i applied. I go to the university of alberta, and they have no other art courses for people who ARENT in said programs. I LOVE art (primarily graphic design), movies, music, and all forms of entertainment. I had to request to register for certain art classes, so i may not get them. So, upon NOT getting into them, i have to think of what i can do in the meantime, or even a different career. What are some ideas of good careers related to graphic design or my hobbies?

I am a photographer but making little money. I’m thinking of switching careers in order to make more money. Graphic design is something appealing to me as I’m very good with photoshop. I took a graphic design class in collage and enjoyed it. Any suggestions? Can I work, be gamefully employed without a degree in graphic design?

I’m okay with the basics and the really self explanatory filtering and colour changing, but I’d really like to expand my knowledge and learn how to manipulate my images so they look impressive.

Is there any books I can buy (off amazon preferably) that you’ve found are good from experience or just know?

Help, please. I need a good but inexpensive (or freeware) photo software program that adds borders and text to photos. This is for setting up ebay pages. I am new to it but want to get started and would love to know how some sellers pages look so good. I thought I’d try to figure it out for myself. Thanks in advance for any help!
