I keep two books here next to my computer. Barbara Brundage’s Photoshop Elements 6 The Missing Manual and Philip Andrew’s Advanced Photoshop Elements 6 For Digital Photographers. The Missing Manual comes out for every version and is excellent. Andrew’s book is beyond the basics and is also excellent. Andrew’s has also written an introductory book. Scott Kelby, Photoshop and Elements Master, wrote the first, beginning book in the Digital Photographer series, Photoshop Elements 6 For Digital Photographers.

I like to learn by doing so I like the books with tutorials that not only produce something but teach me how to do things.

Steve Caplin’s How To Cheat….. books are fun to work through.

And the Lark books, while a little out of date now, are still useful.

The books that don’t have Mac in the title give “bilingual” instructions for both Mac and PC.

If I could only buy 1 book, I’d get Brundage’s Missing Manual.
