Start by getting all the books you can find about graphic design and learn the theory, at the same time start experimenting and working in the Adobe Creative suite. The 3 most used programs are Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign, they are pretty tough to learn but they are the industry standard.
Second thing you should do is look for the portfolios, blogs, websites etc of good designers in the design world or you can scan deviantart for inspiration.

third: practice practice practice practice, never stop learning!

The first thing you want to do is write down all of the things that you want to design. Graphic designers design logos that are put on company products, t-shirts, brochures, websites, etc. You have to think of what logos or designs you want to be shown for others to see. It could be just a simple pattern that you've designed. It could be a picture or quote that you like. Anything that you want to be displayed for others to look at.

After you've decided what you want to design, go to a book store or library near you to check out some books on graphic design. These books are made by professional designers who can help you become a good designer. As you get older and move on to high school and college, your options of what classes to take will become more open. You will be able to choose exactly what classes you want to take in order to start a successful career.

I definitely recommend buying this book or seeing if a library near you
has it, because it explains all about graphic design, as well as designing other things. It's called:
D.I.Y.:Design It Yourself by Ellen Lupton

Here's a link for buying the book on amazon.com:
http://www.amazon.com/D-I-Y-Design-Yourself-Handbooks/dp/1568985525/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1246499269&sr=1-1

Hope I helped and good luck!
